Hmm. Anything goes for the cause.
I would assume the common 18" setup, if not I hope Mr. Shufflin has a patent..
Poor guy. Speaks truth to power and gets banned.

Its amazing, they only had 50-60,000 rifles for the last 4-5 years, mustve found some more.
Write it down fellas, between overpriced ammo and now building "tanker" garands, 2015 will be CMP's year of jumping the shark.
The future CMP offering?

the truth will ALWAYS get you banned on the CMP forum.
I hope they put the front hand guards on them just as the originals had.

117 was a poor troll. I suspect a nom de plume of someone afraid to speak their mind.
I'm back from my hunt, this is news to me. Now that the CMP will do "Tankers" will that fix them? That is, will they now suddenly be okay? Will they not all be junk? Will they not be all ready to blow up? Will they not be unreliable? The magic of the CMP can change all manner of past sin spoken against the "tanker".
On a more serious note, if you want one done right, as in not made by a company like the CMP who has no idea how to do it, drop me an email or phone call. Of course, I'm happy to fix the one you might purchase from the CMP.
How do you know that they will not reverse-engineer one of yours?
That was my first thought. :)
Crazy...Tankers built by the CMP! Who would have ever thought such a thing would come to pass. They must have highest excise tax being paid by any non-FFL in history considering all the rifles they build.
Maybe they'll start building mag fed rifles too?
Tim we need pics or video of your hunt!
This was sent to me today..Hard for me to wrap my head around this huge number, The profit margin must be crazy..

Who said they were going to have to pay the tax? The cronyism they have received by not needing an FFL would most probably be extended to not having to pay the excise tax. FYI, that's a 10% bottom line profit advantage over EVERYONE else who actually has to compete in this market. Of course there's only one way to know if they have to pay the tax, ask them. I'll not be asking as I won't wade in that pool.
I can say without a doubt this is the first I heard of Tankers. I'm also confused about the number of rifles available for sale since the OP of the thread indicated a different amount than what Orest indicated.. Have to see if I can get some real accurate info.
