Make .450 size holes I'm told.
A guy at our club has one. I watched him shoot it from the 200 yard line. Accuracy was good and function was good.
I love big bore baby. I shot my .35 today to get ready for my Wyoming trip. Zero in at 200 yards, 2" high at 100, 10" low at 300. I am absolutely ready to go 300 yards with the thing but the .450 is more limited to 200 and even then you are over 13" low at 200 yards. At 100 yards though, stuff will not like it.
I have read it's a short ranger.I don't shoot more than 100 yards 150 at most.
Sounds good thanks all.
Here we go again.
I've been told to stay away from the 450, POOP.
Okay what ya think of the 6.8? in a 16" barrel?
LP - It's been too long since I've been deer hunting but IMHO you don't need too much more than the .223 for deer. Unless you are looking for an excuse to buy a new AR. If that's the case look into a M110 clone. .308 and on a platform you are already familiar with. I'm sure I don't need to tell you but the .308 will take down much more than deer. DPMS makes a nice one I hear.
.308 rocks deer
I see no reason to not go with the .450 though if your shots are within 200 yards. Those 100 yard and under shots are going to be FUN.
