I have a flash hider that is made by hart. It is milled instead of stamped, can someone tell me when they made the milled flash hiders, and value of one in very good condition?
thanks
Joe

That would be Josh aka "Blockhead" 's area of expertise. I'm sure he'll chime in.
When dealing with liberals, always attribute to malice what would ordinarily be attributed to incompetence.
"Of course it won't be easy; nothing worthwhile ever is. That is why I have always failed where others have succeeded."-Clouseau
Heh, not much of an expert, I'm afraid. The milled were made earlier (don't know dates) and are worth more, but since the deluge of CMP's sniper stuff last fall prices have really dropped. Before that I could sell a milled Hart for about $275-300. I think you've have a diffuclt time selling it for much more than $200 these days.
thanks for the info, i am working on getting an M1d, and don't know which flash hider i want to put on it.
I like the looks of the M2s (but I hear they are terrible for accuracy) and the early milled hart is somewhat rare. I'd keep it if I were you.
The milled ones are desireable over stamped ones.
Dave,is that Your Rifle?Do You find accuracy is affected by M2 Flash hider?
"The advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation ... forms a barrier against the enterprises of ambition, more insurmountable than any which a simple government of any form can admit of." -- James Madison (1788)
Yes it is mine. I only have a 100yd range available at the local club but I have found that even at 100 yds my groups open up a bit, average of 1/2 to 1 inch or so. Thats just with HXP though, I never really shot this one with different handloads to see what its really capable of, then compare those with/without the FH.
Blockhead, I'm with you on the price. I thought the milled were made at the inception of the m1C but don't know when they ended.
