Whats it worth Question

Late 1940 Garand receiver with what looks to be correct 12/40 barrel, worn finish.
From the sounds of it barrel has seen better days. I dont have it in hand to check muzzle /throat but was told it swallows the bullet test

Any ideas on real world street value?

12/40? is it a really high 5 digit or a really low 6 digit?

worn finish on the barrel or worn finish on the receiver?

my initial thought is the barrel is worthless as a barrel and only has value because/if it is attached to original receiver.

I'd price it based on value of receiver alone with a slight bump for having a barrel (as a buyer)

Without seeing it or knowing the real shape of the barrel I say 400 tops, maybe not even that much. The barrel shape will be the key. The receiver alone, if in nice shape, worth about 300 or so. There are a lot of decent receivers on GB in the 250-275 range. Being an earlier 6 digit is a slight premium to some folks.
