I beleive Colt 1911's were blued up until around 1941 sometime and the parkerized
Yours is either very worn parkerizing that has a smooth blued look or it was polished and commercially reparked. At one time 1911's were cheap and plentiful and guys didnt like the parked look so polished and blued them to make them look more modern

Did you really buy this Colt? Pictures or it did not happen!! I still kick myself for passing on a 1911 from a WWII pilot , I passed so he put it on the table for sale and I went back twenty minuets later and it was gone.
