I have an original BM 59 forestock in a bag with Italian writing that was manufactured in 1969. The stock is very dry and it appears that there is no finish on it. What type of finish was used on the original BM59s? I have a raw linseed and a pure tung oil finishing kit from Garand and Gear. What would be better or should I use something else.
