    part prep fpr reparking

hey Tim, will you have any trouble reparking a lower band if i remove some of the existing park with naval jelly? i want to do some tig welding on a lower band and would like some of the park removed to keep the tungsten from getting contaminated. Mike

No problem but you may have issue with color change from the heat of the weld. Park doesn't always play well with welding or the heat from it.

If you would like, go ahead. No biggy either way. We'll find a way.

Tim, i got to thinking, (yeah, i know) do you modify the standard lower band to work with the drop down gas cylinder(BM59)? Before i do any modifying/welding, i figured it may be a waste of time if you have to work it over.

For a drop down, no mod needed.

i beveled some edges on the drop down gas cylinder and touched them up with Caswells blackener. not really a good match. does this get refinished by you anyway during the "G" build?
