    Garand trigger work

hey Tim, when you do a trigger job on a Garand, is the finished trigger pull weight simply a function of what happens after you polish it? do you in any way alter the hammer spring or geometry of the components? I guess my main question is: since i do not shoot matches can you adjust my trigger to a lower pull weight than approx. 5 lbs.? this would be on my "G" build I'm gonna send you. thanks, Mike

I do not alter the sping in any way. All I do is stone the sear and hammer. I do not go below 5LBs because, at any less weight, the trigger tends to rapidly decrease in poundage as used. You can usually get about 1000 rounds out of a trigger job before you need to add weight again.
