    Colt AR15 Mags?

I picked up two twenty round AR magazines yesterday. Both floorplates are marked:

    COLT AR-15
    cal. 5.56 mm
    colt's p.t. f.a. mfg. co. inc.
    hartforld conn. u.s.a.

    Followers are dull grey alloy.

One mag has an I over a U on the spine.

Are these USGI or SP1 mags? Are they worth the $20 each I paid?

$20 a pop? All day long baby!

The REAL early ones (20 rounders) are marked .223 rather than 5.56.

    Retro heads love those those.

I paid $15.00- $20.00 for the early Colt .223 marked mags, have paid $25.00 for very minty "looks" unused .223
You did OK on them, if you take your time and look you can find deals

I have a box from the early 70's (1970 as I recall) whcih was factory packed with 7 20 rounders. still have it packed for the day when my other mags take a dump. Living in NY state we can only have pre-ban mags over 10 rounds so have to bank away the oldies for the future
